Larry & Sandee

It will be
our pleasure to
make your visit with us a
refreshing and memorable
experience. Yada, yada,
yada... :-)
Ok, yeah, so
what, this is a
really old picture --but wow
we look good, so this is
the one I'm going with.
If you don't see these
people when you arrive at
Timberwolf Creek, um...
look for their parents.
That'll be us!
Actually,
the day this photo
was taken stands out in
my mind because it was
so darned much fun.
There were costumes
(no, we did not arrive
in formalwear) and
a hairdresser and
choreographer.
At one point, the
photographer told Larry,
"Act like you like her."
And Larry said, "If we
get any closer, you're
going to have to
leave the room."
Ok, ok,
here's our REAL
picture...

Larry & Sandee
Our coffee is
Elida Estate
from Panama.

This award-winner is
roasted and shipped to us
from the Lamastas family.
Then it's brewed here
with our own
mountain spring water.
You won't find a better
cup of coffee
anywhere.
If you enjoy it as much as we do,
order from
www.geishacoffee.com
(No, we don't make commissions.
We just like to spread the word
when we find something special.)

Meet Your Hosts
Nick, and Larry & Sandee Wright
Notes from Sandee: I can't tell you all how
pleased we are to have our son, Nick, working here with
us. Nick's quite talented in the kitchen and will
see that you have a bountiful and delicious breakfast.
I'd say he's better at this than I am, but there are all
those ego issues... I'll just pretend for the
moment those are Nick's issues... ;) Anyway,
he's a great guy and a dedicated innkeeper, and you're
in excellent hands when he's running the show.
I asked Nick to write something for his bio.
He said, "Just say I rule!" Ahem. Ok. Well, there's
Nick.
THE
INNKEEPER

Nick. He rules.
:)
And in case you haven't noticed throughout this website and during any phone or email conversations you and I may have had, a sense of humor is mandatory here. Not optional. (Really. See silly woman in plastic tiara below.) Bring your toothbrush. Bring your suitcase. Bring your funny bone. That's about all you'll need.
THE
WEDDING FAIRYGODMOTHER

Thought I was kidding about the tiara, didn't you.
Hey, I'm not Queen of the Kitchen for nothing.
And Wedding Fairygodmother. You oughta see my
magic wand. That's right. I have one.
Hmmm, looks like sarcasm is something of a family
legacy. That, and Witty Repartee.
(And yes, that IS a polyester mink apron, eat
your heart out.)
BREAKFAST: AN EPICUREAN DELIGHT
Nick's training as a chef began at a little French restaurant in Denver, prior to attending culinary school. He's proud of the fact that he's cooked for the Denver Broncos, as well as the Archbishop of Canterbury here in the Smoky Mountains.

His signature dish, Eggs
Nicholas, is really fabulous. (You may find Larry
& Sandee at the table with you when he serves these Oo
La La eggs... hey... that's really a pretty good name
for that dish... portabello mushrooms, spinach,
shallots, parmesan, yeah, that's it: ask him to make you
Oo La La eggs!
Ahem, where was I?) And of
course, he's bright and funny and witty, and genuinely
committed to making sure your stay is over-the-top
wonderful.
Nowadays, Nick is the consummate innkeeper: from beginning to end, from preparing your favorite breakfast to ensuring that your suite is perfectly prepared for your arrival, he oversees every detail of the inn's operation.
And with lots of experience camping and hiking and mountain-biking here in the Smoky Mountains, he's just the person to give you an insider's insight into some of the best places to visit.
My own
(Sandee's) training in the kitchen began about fifteen
minutes into B&B ownership! Twelve years later,
a collection of two hundred cookbooks (and counting) and lots of fabulous foodie trips (cooking classes
in New Orleans, and at the Country Inn Cooking School in
Virginia, and behind-the-scenes experiences in dozens of
B&Bs across the country) yield a wealth of ideas that we
can bring to the table. And, there's that true
love of cooking and creating beautiful, delicious food!

It's something of a family legacy, too.
Rhonda
The next
person you're likely to encounter here at Timberwolf
Creek,
and an invaluable member of the family, is Rhonda.
(Say
hello, Rhonda.)

Rhonda keeps everything ship-shape, and in perfect
order,
and if that's not enough,
she can cook!

She brings years of
experience in the kitchen as well as impressive
organizational skills to Timberwolf Creek. She's
not too sure about me calling her
Rhonda the Wedding Fairy, but
that's part of the job, too. Since I call myself
the Wedding Fairygodmother,
and can't quite create that
much magic alone, I really needed a Wedding Fairy.
I can't tell you how relieved Nick was to abdicate that
title, and pass it on to Rhonda.
Other family team members...
Ashley interned with us for several years, and has left us for college in Tennessee. (I'm still harboring hopes that she'll come back to work here, at least now and then!) Sarah and Tony were guests here, then they were engaged here, and then they were married here, and then they moved here! That was my own personal dream-come-true. How fun is that, to hand pick your neighbors? :) Sarah has been a treasure as an innkeeper and a friend.

Tony & Sarah
When Tony & Sarah moved to Maggie Valley, right up the mountain from us, they built a log cabin. The ends of the logs were used to create the benches in our little outdoor wedding chapel. It's all about true love! And Tony even performs weddings here! Full circle...
